SRX9178760: Nanopore library for WGS of Homarus americanus - library 4
1 OXFORD_NANOPORE (PromethION) run: 5M spots, 20.4G bases, 16Gb downloads

Design: Genomic DNA was sheared to a target length of 10 kb using the Diagenode Megaruptor 2. Nanopore sequencing libraries were prepared using approximately 200 fmol sheared DNA input into the LSK-109 kit from Oxford Nanopore Technologies and following the manufacturers protocol. Approximately 50 fmol of the sequencing library was loaded onto the flow cell.

Study: Homarus americanus Genome sequencing and assembly
show Abstracthide Abstract
The goal of this study was de novo sequencing and assembly of the American lobster genome. The American lobster, Homarus americanus (Milne-Edwards 1837), is a decapod crustacean of ecological and commercial importance. It forms the foundation of one of the largest and most valuable fisheries along the northeast Atlantic coast of North America, and also serves as a valuable model organism for the study of neural networks. This genome will provide a valuable tool for both conservation and biomedical advancements.
Sample: Three lobsters were used for this WGS project. The first was collected in 2015, and DNA from heart tissue was used for PE and MP Illumina and Dovetail Chicago sequencing libraries. The second (L2) and third (L3) were collected in 2017; DNA from L2 and L3 heart was used for DoveTail HiC and DNA from L3 testis was used for Oxford Nanopore sequencing.
